The Red Dirt Run of Honor is operated by the Woodring Wall of Honor and Veteran's Park, Inc., a 501(c)3 corporation registered in the State of Oklahoma. The Red Dirt Run of Honor has no paid staff. The organization and the Red Dirt 5K/Half Marathon Run is staffed and operated entirely by volunteers. The event provides financial support to the mission of the Woodring Wall of Honor and Veterans Park, Inc.
Participants will pick up their packets on Friday, May 25, 2018 from 5 – 7 pm at Planet Fitness, 800 W Broadway, Enid, OK and the morning of the race from 6 – 6:45 am at the Woodring Wall of Honor Hanger, 1026 S 66th St. Woodring Airport, Enid, OK. Volunteers will be responsible for handing out packets, goodie bags, and t-shirts to the participants.
Location Set Up/Tear Down
Assistance is needed on Friday at the Veterans Park to set up tents, chairs, stage, for registration, seating, and awards ceremony.
Water Station Set Up/Tear Down
Runners will pick up water or powerade at several locations throughout the event. Volunteers are needed for set up, manning, and tear down of water stations. Water station monitors or sponsors are encouraged to make their location exciting and fun. Costumes/station themes, music, and encouragement to runners are suggested. Trash cans are mandatory at water stations!
Finish Line Set-up/Tear Down
Assistance is needed on Saturday, from 5 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Woodring Wall of Honor. We will be setting up the fencing for the finish line and hanging up banners.
Breakfast/Brunch Set Up/Tear Down
We need volunteers to set up tables and chairs and serve breakfast to runners upon start and completion of race. Volunteers are needed from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Course Monitor (Intersection and Directional Control)
We need volunteers to direct runners at intersections throughout the course of the race. Volunteers would be needed from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Shifts can be arranged if a volunteer can't cover the entire race.
